Sunflower field in the Garotxa region

Girona cathedral
I just spend an hour and a half honing my photoshop skills on these two photographs from Spain. They were taken on holiday in July 2004. One is from a field with sun flowers in the Garrotxa area. The other is taken in the medieval center of Girona, with the bell tower of the cathedral in the middle.
Technically speaking, I don’t find them very good. The colour is somewhat wrong, and I tried to correct that in Photoshop. The result is slightly better than the original scan, but there still seems to be a blue hue cast over the images. The picture in Girona was taken around noon, which just isn’t a good time to make pictures, especially in sunny Spain. It results in really harsh shadows.
